libinput5 software package provides input device management and event handling library - shared library, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libinput5
libinput5 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libinput5 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libinput5 *
You will get with libinput5 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
